I've seen hardly any animals. Badgers, hedgehogs, rats, mice - none. Dogs, squirrels, crows, gulls, pigeons - loads.

Why do I only see boring animals in the wild? I've seen plenty of cool animals at the zoo, but they don't really count.
I have left NS.

Sounds interesting, this movie. If it has fictional animals, it's my cup of tea.

We should probably keep in mind that 1000 AE is in relation to that universe's timescale. 1000 AE might be 10,000 years from 3/9/2013, for all we know.

From the trailer it looks like it does. Also, per the Wikipedia article:

1,000 years later, a crash-landing of a small ship leaves teenager Kitai Raige (Jaden Smith) and his father, army General Cypher Raige (Will Smith) stranded. With Cypher critically injured, Kitai must embark on a perilous journey to signal for help so they can return to Nova Prime, facing uncharted terrain, evolved animal species that now rule the planet, and an unstoppable alien creature that escaped during the crash.

Exactly. After years of torture, my country is ''free'', just to be tortured even more by others, no thanks to America, or anyone else, for that matter.

The only difference is that now we can leave the country and our family behind. It's a choice that everybody has to make nowadays: Your family, or the chance to a better life?

My theory is some form of accelerated evolutionary experiment gone awry. Genetic manipulation, that sort of thing. It's difficult to say at this point, but I think they left because of what happened, so I believe it happened more than 1000 years ago.

The only problem is that the Wikipedia article states that humanity left "in the near future." 10,000 years doesn't sound like a near future.
