I'm so glad I'm out of High School and don't have to deal with such stupid silly shit.

I got called to the office last semester for having a pic of a deactivated pineapple grenade as my phone's wallpaper. The principal said he could've had me arrested for it.

And then they went through my pictures (their justification for going through my phone was to find out who's it was, as they picked it up in the cafeteria, because I accidently dropped it, even though I fail to see how looking through my pictures would determine who owned the phone), and said that they found porn (which I didn't, and don't deny having on it). But since I'm 18, they couldn't have done anything, other than a strongly-worded encouragement to delete the pics.

All this talk about writing has made me reminisce about my thesis. It was like a long, arduous pregnancy. Took me 1 year and a half to both investigate and write. I learned so much from it and discovered so many interesting historical tidbits... And yet... the title was so without oomph: Of the hybridism in the architectural styles of Antonin Nechodoma.

So why paleontology?

I had the good fortune of studying this in Europe, where there's a 'market' for it. I worked in my chosen field for several years and derived a lot of satisfaction. And hopefully, I will work at it again. Just not in Bumfuck Arkansas.

Apparently, they thought I was going to blow up my school. Even after I told them that the grenade in the picture was deactivated, and with no (reasonable) way to reactivate it, even if I wanted to.
