I was having great issue with the HTML coding on my page, which, is probably my fault. But an entire afternoon later, and I still can't get my flags up on the page.

Are you writing the code on the customise page? You should always do it in a dedicated HTML editor.

Very true. Sticking to one part of the site rather than attempting to mingle with groups that don't share your interests is a bad idea, though; so it has a fairly sharp learning curve...

I don't particularly like FB or twitter much, either. Hell, I deleted everyone but 2 people from my FB friends list, and one of them is my secondary account...

I used to have a decent fandom blog with 300 some followers, but a lot of the show began to bore me and Tumblr stared to annoy me.

I never even bothered getting either.
