Near as I can tell, the hatred of him is summed up as follows:

None of which makes sense to me. Sure the second one is an indicator to me that I probably wouldn't enjoy his music...

For me it is symphonic metal, though there's plenty of stuff I like that falls outside of that...

Usually industrial metal, NDH, and recently visual kei.
Add in some hard rock, rap and hip-hop, some pop, and Laibach, and you get the general idea.
