Warhammer Fantasy Battle is another option.
Pff, both are awesome.
40k has more annoying players though.
Like 40 year old men that start throwing their own miniatures after their Draigowing has been slaughtered.

At this point, we've pretty much proven that not only can evolution happen, it pretty much must happen since it's basically impossible to prevent it from happening.

Well, that's just stupid. If you play any miniature wargame right, you will have invested time and effort in assembling and painting your miniatures. Last time I checked, miniatures don't like it when they're thrown during a temper tantrum. All this talk about miniatures kinda makes me want to pick up painting BattleTech miniatures again. Not that I know anybody in my neighbourhood who plays the game, but it might be fun to make dioramas with loads of 'Mechs, tanks and infantry. Old 40K Epic Imperial Guards work well ascannonfodderinfantry in BattleTech as well, since it's the same scale.

Can't you use those IG to play Epic:Armageddon? If you had other players in your area that is.
