Biebl's Ave Maria or Bach/Genoud's Ave Maria

Bach.

Why's that? While I love Bach-Gounod's Ave Maria, I prefer Biebl's because of its more... holistic sound. When I first heard it performed, I nearly cried.

While Bach-Gounod's Ave Maria captivates me, it does not produce as much of an emotional response.

True, I can agree with you entirely there, name some of the more obscure then.

I can't, because I really don't know much obscure stuff. Of anything. That's why I asked Hurdegaryp for help in that.

Bach.

I actually saw Rammstein perform earlier this year. In April, I think. God, the people who showed up...
I'll give Rammstein credit for putting on a good performance, though.

I just dislike them for ... well, being what they represent. A bit overrated. And too openly right-wing.

I just like Bach's version more. Not that into the 'holistic' sound, as you describe it.

But we all know who's the god of classical music, anyways.

Exactly. It seemed to me they're trying to be fascist/militarist(The second one being a trait stolen straight from Laibach, but then again, Laibach doesn't give a shit. Rammstein sucks at being militaristic, though) without being so simply to parody those who actually are. Of course, I'm probably wrong, but you never know.

Regardless, I prefer the Bach/Gounod version. It's the one I grew up hearing, so the other versions I've heard just sound... not quite correct.

You're welcome. It's always nice to discover new bands (the word 'new' being relative in this case, since many of the acts I mentioned have been around for a while), and as Eek! the Cat used to say: it never hurts to help.

Flesh Field would be a typical example of dark electro/industrial. If you like that band, you might also want to check out Wumpscut, Project Pitchfork, Tactical Sekt, Hocico, Front Line Assembly, Velvet Acid Christ and many, many other acts.
