Or it's unimportant. For the majority of people knowing that means nothing, what good does it do them? It is knowledge for the sake of knowledge. Most people wouldn't be able to integrate 5x^7 + 6x^6 given that f(x) passes through (0,0) but it doesn't mean anything.
