You're a mod, you'll get used to it. Eventually it works out into dispassionate unfeelingness. We'll even share a few jokes. I mean, there'll never be friendship, comraderie, the stuff you used to know, but you'll be able to pretend it's there. Maybe on a particularly warm night, when the summer wind's blowing a fresh breeze into your room, you'll be able to stare at the screen, and maybe dimly remember something that was more than you had now. Something akin to actual feeling, emotion.
But no. It's an illusion. And that night you'll cry yourself to sleep, and wake up the next morning knowing that you are no longer a child. Now you are a man.
