Returned from a wedding reception a few hours ago, was able to catch up with my friend/neighbor from high school (she's a junior in high school and would know what's going on there). Chilling now before bed, taking the train back to campus in about 12 hrs.

It always makes it easier when you can say what's bothering you instead of just thinking about it. Thoughts can cause feedback loops, while saying things sort of bares them out and makes them plain and immutable.

^ This. Negative thoughts are self defeating, and they often induce a positive feedback loop (i.e. in this case that the worse you feel, the more negatively you think, and the more negative, the worse you feel, etc.).
