I always get mocked for this, because Alternative is apparently "not a genre, but simply a category for things that fit elsewhere" according to my friends, but I have a definite preference for Alternative Rock as well as Indie Rock (I separate them). I do have a lot of favourite songs in other genres though. Craziest genre on my phone: "Indie Rock, Psych Folk, Baroque Pop" for The Dodos.
