Is this connected in any way to the Venus Project?

Yes, it explains many ideas and misconceptions of the Venus Project.
I recommend it to everyone before they spout some random criticisms or such from secondhand knowledge. Most of your questions can and will be answered by this book (although, The Best That Money Can't Buy is better, in my opinion, it explains more, etc.) if you still have any questions, there's always the F.A.Q.s on thevenusproject . com.

Isn't it a bit ironic that a book entitled "The Best That Money Can't Buy" isn't free? (damn you, Astro)

This is a really bad comparison, and I apologize in advance for it, because it really misrepresents what I'm trying to say. But it's 10 at night and I can't think of anything better, so you'll just have to deal with me comparing religion to Hitler when I think it's really more on the level of, like, Bush Jr.
The holocaust taught us a lot about the human body; that doesn't mean we should have another.

I don't remember expressing hatred towards religion. I stated that religion is not the cause of hatred, evil, and war, but it can be a motivating factor in the world. Even a guy like William Lane Craig admits that religion has done a lot of evil things. I was only trying to say that I'm not a militant atheist that thinks religion is the source of all of our problems, but I take the more moderate view that it can be the cause of some of our problems.

I also stated that the number one cause of religious faith is because people feel they act better when they have it. 'Act better' would be the reasons you listed in your post. I asserted that once we established that religion was not the only way for us to determine human values, this reason would go away. I don't see any religious hatred in this either.

Nobody has accused you of shoving your faith at people, or using it against other people. Nobody has accused you of intolerance or impatience. Your giant damage control operation has created more animosity than existed before you got here, because you're talking about an apparent hatred towards religion that doesn't really exist.
