As long as you can support yourself and will have enough money to hold you over if something bad happens, you should be fine.

I think you should have personal goals and professional goals, and hold them equally important. You should have something you want to do, and someone you want to be while you do it.

Oh, it wont be for a while. I am going to go to College, and I will have a job long before I get married. But, I really want a family.

Then I don't see anything wrong with that. In fact, I think it's a better goal than wanting the best job or wanting to be the smartest person in the room. As long as you can support your family without burning out from your job, I'd say you've won.
