Aw, well at least that's understandable.
Still, maybe when the weather is nicer and you're just driving by a dealership...
Or you could fib and say that you've been riding since you were a teeanger, like me

1981 Honda CM400E. Reppy has a slightly newer 450 version. Wait a sec and I'll post a pic of Reppys bike.
Edit: Here it is:
Anyway, my first was also a Honda, 1989 CBR 250
Not the actual bike, but close enough.

I am pretty sure it was Reppy I talked bike with (I stole the pic from here).
The CBR is a nice bike, but I am not too into sport bikes myself.
I know Nathi has a bike, I don't know if Reppy has one...

If I had the money, I would get a Suzuki T1000R. It didn't sell well because of the reputation of the T1000S for locking up on turns and killing people, but it had fixed all of those problems.

Mine however wasn't, at least at the start. It had some serious carb problems and wasn't exactly a model of reliability.
Still when it did work, like all first bikes it was epic. Not the quickest thing in the world but super-maneuverable, perfect for carving up the North Shore ravines. And a better chick magnet than the candy-coated boy racers which ere all the rage at the time thanks to the Fast and the Furious.

Go for the BMW. My K75 is pretty reliable, plenty powerful... it's just an awesome bike.Big Jim P wrote:New England and The Maritimes wrote:If I had the money, I would get a Suzuki T1000R. Mine would be either a Harley Davidson Electra Glide Sport (suitably cusomized) or a BMW R100RT
V Twin superbikes are always a hoot. Plenty of punch from the v-twin torque band and little weight makes for a fun ride.New England and The Maritimes wrote:Big Jim P wrote:

Yes, and yes. According to the previous owner it was a "grey market" import from Canada, and he had the paperwork to back it up.Big Jim P wrote:Northern Dominus wrote: The CBRs are in general nice.

Questions: Are you in the States and is that a four cylinder? I am horribly out of date, especially where sport bikes are concerned. the last I knew, the really high-tech 250 four cylinders were not imported into the States.

If you like the 1000R you might want to check out the Honda RC51, lots of raves for that series.

Plus you won't be mistaken for a massive douche if you ride a BMW either. Both the sporbike and chromed-out cruiser crowds share that burden equally.V Twin superbikes are always a hoot. The insurance companies only ever had the CB250 "Nighthawk" on their records so it kept getting classed as such. Bear in mind unfortunately that bike was totaled in 2005 down in Florida thanks to some idiot pulling out in front of me.

I couldn't afford the insurance on a bike anyway, and the proper safety equipment would be a nightmare to wear in the summer. Plus, I live in Florida where your bike got totaled. You know how people drive down here.
