I like to think that after our conscious lives on this earth ends, our souls (in a realistic sense) are kept on earth as long as there's someone who remembers who you were. In a theistic sense, maybe there's a limbo.

It used to be way more unfair and racist but we moved with the times unlike some religions. Hinduism doesn't claim to be right, we just think our way makes the most sense to us personally, but we also think we ought to move with the times rather than stagnate like we did before.
