The economic sense isn't my issue. It's that of pride and as well as experience. It's not the same, living on campus, football on Saturdays, as it is at a 4 year school. My first 2 years are about experience, not just class. It'll feel too much like high school. Plus I want to move out.

I've never had anything truly my way. Just for once I wanted to start it with this.

If you want something to go your way, start by making it a more realistic goal.

UF is a really good school, and very hard to get in to.
I really don't see what is special about UM, but I am pretty sure there are other really good private colleges like Rollins.
