If by "right" you mean "capitalist", then yes. But the Republican policy of "FUCK YOU ALL, MY MONEY!" is so utterly and entirely broken, it's not even funny.

Mayor of Pittsburgh doesn't really have policies, I don't think. Nothing's changed.

We just vote for him every term, because, well... why not? He hasn't broken anything yet.

I'd prefer elections every two years, not every six weeks or whenever some group of MPs switch sides on some policy and bring the government down. Seriously...

Lanos, I think your gov't is stable enough that an MP switching sides on some policy wouldn't bring it down.

I'm not arguing for that. If you payed attention, I didn't say anything like that at all.

Not necessarily. The Dem tent is pretty big, and while there was a recent attempt to make a more uniform Republican party, theres certainly a variety of opinions therein.

The third party the Libertarians only get 1% of the vote. To be honest Obama seems more honest than Romney if I had to choose. But as I am only a visa holding resident luckily I can't vote.

It isn't "false dichotomy" by any means. It's a sign of stability that our parties are so similar.

But something happened, something broke, in the Republican Party that they're starting to bend to the crazies in their numbers. Theoretically, they should all boil together into one, just as the Dems and Reps should on an actual level of governing, but it's turned so that the madmen dictate the Reps, and thus, prevent the Dems, who aren't as broken, from meshing with them, meaning nothing happens.

A simple matter of patience will fix this in no time. As for corruption, well... that's a bit trickier, but it would asinine to say "THEY'RE ALL CORPORATE PUPPETS!" If that were true, ol' boy Mitt wouldn't bother running; he'd already be dancing around in a burning John Galt fantasyland.
