What an absurd claim! Scots should sound Germanic as it is a Germanic language. None of the modern Celtic Languages sound or look Germanic, because they're not. And to claim no cleric language died out!? I'm sorry to break it to you, but Cornish has been a dead language for over a hundred years, and the last native speaker to Manx died in 1974. Two of the Celtic languages died in favour of English.

Scottish Gaelic hardly sounds Germanic. And, grammatically, Gaelic has changed little. Spellings have. Take for example the name of King Donald MacAlpin, in Medieval Gaelic it is "Domnall mac Ailpín" but in Modern Gaelic it becomes "Dòmhnall mac Ailpein." The reason for this spelling change? To make it easier to read. Its pronounced the same, but spelling wise the latter is easier to read than the former. Even if they were smaller langauges being spoken, it matters not. Two languages, and with them a culture and history, died out. And you made the claim that none of the Celtic languages did die.

I've never had formal instruction in maths above pre-algebra, so I'm not sure what a lot of things are. I just figured out how to solve problems by looking them up and taking them apart.
