I basically have three friends, and as strange and depressing as it sounds, I had assumed that they were only friends with me out of pity. I turned out to be extremely wrong, they are not burdened by me being the quiet awkward kid as I thought they were.

Speaking of this, I had a friend show up from the other side of the country a few weeks ago on a random road trip. Totally not planned, but I think that was the best week of my life over the past five years.

Just saying that the idea that you should keep going if you're deliberately harming yourself (I know this is boxing so you do actually do things that require getting hit and stuff, but there's a point where the trade-off is not worth it.) is a little lopsided.
