Lets view it this way.

God does has standards. It is clearly shown in the law books. He holds all sin as equal. It's mainly His little metaphor to say "you guys can't be perfect". David was an adulterer, Moses murdered a dude, etc. Even the men, who the Bible has established a cult of personality around, sinned and fell short. We're all wicked. Thats why God gave us another way out by having faith in Him. I'm a new Christian, only 2-3 years into it.

I don't see not believing in something that has zero verifiable evidence as being a problem.
