If there was, it would have come out by now.

Considering Benteke and Gabby Agbonglahor waking up in the last couple of games are the only reason Villa aren't already relegated, I'd say he's worth the £60m parachute payment they would have got without his presence.

lol. a friend sent me an "Aston Villa teamsheet" earlier this season which read something like:
Guzan, Irrelevant, Irrelevant, Irrelevant, Irrelevant, Irrelevant, Irrelevant, Irrelevant, Irrelevant, Irrelevant, Benteke

...I had no comeback for that.

You must be a Premiership manager, as they seem to be the only people who actually like Darren Bent.

If you create chances for him, he scores goals. One can never underestimate the value of goals. *shrug*
That and his goals kept us up under Houllier. I have theories on why Lambert doesn't really seem to like him, I just hope I'm wrong and he sticks around too. It's been a long time (19-20 years iirc) since Villa last had three good forwards... and that's with me counting Dalian Atkinson as a good forward (though I don't think anyone could deny that he had his moments).

Kind of ironic, I think, that despite working so hard to get them in this position, Benteke's red card could yet prove decisive in the relegation battle. They could really miss him on Sunday if Wigan beat Arsenal tonight.

Speaking as a Spurs fan, I'd love him at the club. He's exactly what we've been calling, nay, screaming out for whilst Adebayor's been playing "Casual Emmanuel" all season. However, every goal, every brace, every hat trick is adding millions to his price tag, and unless Villa go down there is no way in hell that I can see Levy paying it. There are certain kind of transfers you can identify as 'a Levy type signing', and £20m+ on a striker, however young and proven, just isn't one of them. However much we need to. Calum McManaman, now there's a Levy type signing I'd like to see happen.

Not sure I understand why Arsenal would need Benteke though, given they've got Podolski, Giroud, and Walcott.

Spurs signed him at the beginning of the season didn't they? They should sell him, he's been awful for most of the season. They should think about buying Benteke or Aubameyang to replace him.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Jermain Defoe in my mind is still a good player, but he's gettign old and he doesn't score often enough anymore. wWhich is why I was wondering if they signed Adebayor, cause I think they should sign Benteke.

A joke my mate told be today:

"It's going to be great having Cardiff in the EPL next year, it'll be the first time we've had three welsh teams in the league."

This nation should not be taken to be representative of my real-life views, nor should any of the nonsense I posted on here as a teenager.

True, it would mean the 150th derby would have to wait. But still, it'll give us breathing space to rebuild and hopefully destroy the Sunderland team.

Defoe, to me, is an impact sub now. Can come on, dart about, rattle in a few accurate shots when we're chasing the game. He's not a line-leader. Adebayor, if he'd played like he has these past two games all season, would be a great line-leader. He is an unpredictable guy though, so, yeah. I'd love Benteke or Aubameyang. Love.

Heung-Min Son, as well. A striker that can play right wing (Lennon can't go 38 games a season) that fits 'the Levy model'? Yes please.

In other news; GWAN WIGAN.
