EDIT: Additionally, since I have never had the opportunity to support United when they were down (considering when I was born) I sometimes OCCASIONALLY don't really feel thrilled, because I don't feel as though I've come through enough with the club to really be a part of the success.

Good for him. Yeah, I was pretty hacked off when he left, but I'm over that now. He left Arsenal because he didn't think he'd win the league with us. Personally I think he was wrong about that, but that's what he believed. I was disappointed he left, obviously, but that was mainly because of how much the club had invested in him over the years. It's worth pointing out that we've yet to really see how successful he'll be at United, as he's won as many trophies there as he did at Arsenal (and at Feyenoord). He'll be 30 at the start of next season, and with his history of injury it's entirely possible - though hopefully not - that he may not have many full seasons left in the game.

lol, I have a friend who is a Gooner, and he's mocked me for years for my "irrational hatred of Dwight Yorke".

That all said... my antipathy toward Dwight Yorke isn't just because he went to United. I can understand that, as much as it was a betrayal seeing your then-favourite Villan say "yeah I don't wanna be here any more" (and seemingly play shit to force the move) -- and I will forever love John Gregory for his reaction to the request -- it was his comment years later; "If you know the history of it, supporters always regarded Birmingham as bigger than Villa" that pissed me off. Why haven't they consolidated into one stadium yet, and alternate matchdays for usage? The closest example I can think of is in the NFL, where the New York Jets and Giants share the same stadium (MetLife Stadium), and alternate their games each week so that one team is at home while the other is away? Why haven't the two teams come to a sort of agreement on this?

He had five separate medium- or long-term injuries, four of those involving his left foot/ankle. When he broke his ankle playing for the Netherlands in 2009, and was out for five months, there were several 'pundits' saying that Wenger should ditch him because of his patchy form and injury record. Imagine if Ronaldo had been injured on and off between 2005-2009 and then fucked off to City or Liverpool(!) and started scoring like he is at Real Madrid...

There are very few Arsenal players that I have continued to dislike after they've left Highbury/The Emirates, but Na$ri is one of them. Just comes across as an utterly odious human being. Can't stand him.
