But seven times gets you a lower fine than once? I would think it would be the other way around.

Well, we'll just have to wait for the report. I've read from the Guardian that part (or all) of it is explained by taking the player's wage into account. I'd speculate at him possibly getting a greater fine due to being England captain at the time on a "bringing it into disrepute" kind of thing.

Um... I think some of you might be a little confused as to how these FA hearings work. They are effectively civil court cases, which don't hinge on the burden of proof, but rather the balance of probability. Basically, Suarez and Terry both got done over because the panel decided that their explanations were "less likely" to be true than the other party's. In Suarez's case, it was confirmed that he used the terminology, and they deemed it more likely that he meant offence. Simple.

However, I'm pretty sure the FA regulations state that if an offence is "racially aggravated", the sentence is supposed to be doubled. So, if its a four match ban normally (which I think it is), then Terry should have been given an eight match ban, surely? Unless the panel decided that "fucking black c***" doesn't count as "racially aggravating" ... which seems a bit odd to me.

Just as an addition to this, I read yesterday that the judge in the Terry court case basically said something along the lines of "John Terry is almost certainly a lying fuck but we can't actually prove it".

I have to say that the guy deserves a shitload of credit given the way the club and a substantial number of Blackburn fans treated him. Given the many months of abuse that he's had to deal...this is his first outburst against the owners as far as I'm aware.

He might not be one of the greatest managers in the world but he did not deserve the amount of shit he got from the chicken magnates.

On to my favourite subject - Leeds United

Seems that there is some movement with regards to the takeover. It looks like that indeed the people involved behind the scene are members of the Bahrain ruling family/government.

I will categorically state here that this bunch makes Master Bates look like a multiple Nobel Peace Prize winner (despite Bates comments). I am not a happy chappy to see my club taken over by a bunch of murderous thugs...no matter how much money they might pump into the club.

Of course what'll happen is that we will sweep all before us...win shit loads of trophies...all on blood money. I think I'm gonna cry.
