No. But according to the law, in order to get a minor's permit, you need to pay for driving school, which costs around $100 or so, as well as pay for the application fee. In order to get an adult permit, you need to pay $31 for the fee and that's it.

In both cases, you still need to pass the written test. Passed that easily.

Practice as much as you can in that time, hopefully your parents are good drivers and can teach you everything you need to know. I once co-owned a car with someone, with the understanding that I'd help them learn to drive... they preferred to let me drive them around despite my urgings that they should practice more. Naturally, they failed the driving test.

My parents are decent drivers; I plan to begin learning how to drive in two weeks or so, and practice as often as I can.
