I didn't like it at first, but its easier on your eyes when you wake up at 3 AM and realize you need to post on NS. Now. But then, I've never really used the 'default'.

I really, really wish I knew. I'm not an undereater, either. I have like, a rare steak every few days, eat a whole lot of bread and cheese, and drink beer like crazy.

Yeah. My one fear with the style is that, because of how light I am (I'm 6'02" and only weight 150lb) my main advantage in mobility, which I normally use with sparring of any form, would be lost.

Hrm. Well, with any armor it is going to load you down a bit. Of course in my case, I only have to have steel on head and joints. I lighten things up by using heavy gauge barrel plastic for the large body pieces. Depending what rules you're working with, that might limit the materials you can use. Still, with a bit of practice, even the extra weight can be compensated for. I've seen folks in full armor do some amazing things. And it isn't just the weight, but how it's made, and how easily you carry it. If you're getting something custom made (hopefully by someone reputable), you're already headed in a great direction, imo.

Not that I'm an expert by any stretch of the imagination. I'm still plotting out my new suit on this end, trying to engineer something that will protect adequately, not pinch the boobs in the process, and not impede my arm movements at the same time. Last suit had problems with me crossing my arms, and it was a little heavier than I'd like this go 'round.

Hmmm, okay. I have heard plate is actually more mobile than chain, so that might be something to consider for me. I think I've decided on the helmet, as well -- hounskull.

PS - would totally trade you metabolisms. >_> Totally.

I have virtually no muscle mass at the same time. I can't build much muscle or fat, hard as I try.

I would love tho ride the zamboni.

And it's not that expensive, thankfully.
It was only $95 (tax included) for a 6 game plan, and it includes tickets to the AHL All Star Game and Skills Competition this year.
I may get a book of Flex Tix to boot though. That would leave me with uh... 15 games for $200, which isn't too bad. That's about $13 per game, which saves a lot off the box office price.
