But that would presuppose that such a being ever had any 'purpose' for his creation. What if he never did?
Alright, no more. Don't mind me. I have too much antihistamine flowing through my veins.
Well...I have always wondered WHY God would have created humans in the first place. What motivation could he have? What benefit would it bring Him?

The capacity to create.
If we were to give a deity anthropomorphic features, I guess we could deduce that he had a purpose. But we're referring to a deity. He may not have had any purpose other than to create. After the creation, it was up to humans to find meaning. He perhaps never intended to give any meaning to anything.
Makes Him sound like a machine, which is a viable theory, I suppose.

Well, you see, it's like this. We approach a deity from a human standpoint. We give this deity feelings that are, IMO, inherently human. Do deities, if they exist, feel like us? I can't say yay or nay.

Maybe he was bored and figured why not create beings in his own image.Hathradic States wrote:I think Im going to crawl under a rock and die now.

Gandhi was weird, but I agree with his philosophy. Up to a point, of course; letting Nazis go unmurdered is too far, even for me.

Well, given that, whether one exists or not, the vast majority of deities are fictional beings created by humans to comfort us/explain things, deities are inherently human and feel like us.
Without years of evolutionary progress hammering empathy into our heads, a creator is most likely incomprehensible in it's motives (not to mention it's existence), to us.

Meh. I disagree on...well, a lot of his stuff. It's just not for me. Sex, drugs, and rock & roll are. Don't much care about the other thing, though; in-context he was saying that he cared a hell of a lot more about freeing his own damn country than what Hitler was doing. (That and he was commenting about how hypocritical the fight against fascism was while India was oppressed.)

Ah, but that's what believers suppose. That a deity is good and feels good and wrath, like a human does. However, if there are deities, why would they be subject to our ideas of feelings? Wouldn't they be above or beyond that?
