I am not sure how to respond to such blatant ignorance in how the American government works as well as in the status of a purely ornamental monarch.

The monarch has the ability to appoint the Prime Minister, I believe. Whether this is still exercised, I have no clue.

Tbh, I don't think the monarchy has any relevence today. I'd be all for becoming a republic, except that would involve giving politicians free license to rewrite our system of government and there's no way I trust them not to take advantage of that..
