Writing down the scenes you envisioned first and then expanding the book from there. I usually go with a linear story-line first, and the actual writing of the book becomes something of a chore.

Honestly, I think a lot of things would have gone a lot better if imperialism hadn't happened. At least, hadn't happened in Europe. Same can be said for fascism. And Soviet-style/Maoist "Communism".

So you let the book go where it may, rather than following a set plot line? I have trouble writing more than 15 pages because it becomes a chore.

I usually just write down the first scene that pops into my head and go from there. Of course, I've never written a book before.

Why did Bangladesh split?

That happened later, in 1971. The Bengalis wanted independence instead of being 'East Pakistan', and then war happened, then India freed Bangladesh.

I do that too. One of the reasons I never finish anything. (The other is that I'm not very good). Do you recommend this tactic?
