Prove that what you're quoting is real and what I'm quoting isn't and I'll admit you're right. Until then, that's a paper-thin excuse for not wanting to believe most people burn for eternity.

"The way it should be" =/= the way it is. Like I said, reading has led me to believe that very few people can actually make it into Heaven. Most of what Jesus says in the Bible is about how difficult it is.

Jesus said the two most important commandments are to love God and to love one another. If someone is loving towards their fellow human beings and isn't too big on hating on God, they go to Heaven. Simple as that. Good people go to Heaven.

Also, considering that their are verses where he went down into hell and recused all the prophet from before his time from hell make me think that he isn't that vindictive and cruel.

He's making a baseless claim about religion. Sure, you're right, but they're his... "beliefs", as bullshit as that is. He's chosen to belief that the Christian God is merciful, and we have no real way of disproving that. It's a book. He can interpret the character differently. That's basically what it comes down to.

I'd like to see which parts of the book he's interpreting like that, mostly.

And besides, "baseless claims" is synonymous with "religion"

Don't share, please.
With religion though, you know, it's hard to refute, mainly because it's so tied to emotion.

I'm not refuting the religion, I'm refuting his belief that the Bible says it's easy to get into Heaven. This is something that can be proven beyond a doubt rather easily.

Not really, no. Have you been to Heaven? No. You really can't say for sure. The Bible is, after all, a contradictory mess of accounts from many different authors.
