I've never cared much for Cinco de mayo. Mostly because people in the US know jack shit about what its about. It's not Mexico's independence day (That's September 16th) What it actually celebrates is the Mexican's victory over an invading french army who then went on to conquer Mexico and install a friendly government. A.K.A They're celebrating one of the only big battles they actually won in that war A war which they lost.

I've never cared much for Cinco de mayo. Mostly because people in the US know jack shit about what its about. It's not Mexico's independence day (That's September 16th) What it actually celebrates is the Mexican's victory over an invading french army who then went on to conquer Mexico and install a friendly government. A.K.A They're celebrating one of the only big battles they actually won in that war A war which they lost.

Cinco de mayo is mainly celebrated in Puebla, in Mexico. Why? Because that is the celebration of the victory over the battle of Puebla.

People in the US just use it as an excuse to get wasted.
