Halt shrugged. "Oh well. Alas indeed. He wants to protect her?" Halt looked Asgrim up and down rapidly. "Well he sure as hell looks dangerous. How does- oh wait. Before that, here" Halt fished into his purse and pulled out a small sack, giving it a quick weigh he tossed it to Boran. "That's around 250 gold. Your cut. If it weren't for you I would never have made the money anyways, so it seems fair. But, how does he fight?"

Boran eyed the coinpurse. "I don't take money for you doing me a favor." he said, handing it back. "Consider it a repayment. I still owe you one, though."

Boran looked at Asgrim. "He's scary powerful physically. Problem is, he's very suseptible to magic. Still, he has the mind of a child. Its an odd thing. But, I figure, even if we didn't want his help, he woulld follow anyway, so might as well embrace it, eh?"

Halt Do'urden

Halt threw the money back. "Now you don't. If it makes you feel better, its been weighing on my conscience. So magic is his problem eh? Well he takes the front line, I'll sit back and kill the mages. The mind of a child? How old of a child? Babbette is still just a child too so..."

Boran sighed, pocketing the money. He'd just sneak it into Halts belonging later. He was already carrying around a good amount of gold. Boran was not wanting for anything in life. Not anymore, anyway.

"Good point." he said. "Seems like a lot of power to instill in kids, though..." Boran scratched his head. He had seen so many kids tripped of their innocence. Why did each and every one of them tear at his soul?
"That's one thing about roleplaying games. You can be in them for the long haul. And you can put them on hiatus for various reasons - people move away, go to university, get married, get a job, have kids, other unimportant stuff that gets in the way - and still come back to them at any point in the future, and the gameplay will be just as good as you remember it. It won't feel outdated."

I feel he is trying to recruit Babbette, who is probably thinking you abandoned her. He is setting himself up as an alternative to you, and trying to look like a better alternative. I do not feel he will want her to do what is best for Skyrim, which is what is necessary. The dragons must be defeated. Without Babbette... we stand no chance."

Boran sighed once more. "i know. I nrealize what he is trying to do. I can hope, however, that he wants to help us. Ultimatly, though, if he wants a different endgame then all of us, what am I to do?" Boran shrugged. He had thought a lot of this as of late. "Benyamin's last words to me were to protect Babbette, but not to coddle her. I can help guide her as much as I can, but in the end, its her life, and her choices."

Wiping an errant drop of sweat off his forehead he asked nonchalantly, "Good enough for you Shadow?"

Boran rolled his eyes and turned back to Halt. "Sorry about that."

"Yes..." he said, nervously looking at Boran, then at the faceless expression of metal that Asgrid saw the world out of. "I just want to help you understand your body..." looking back at Borans gaze, he shut up immediatly after that.

"Don't worry, I'll be staying the night here..." boran said. The sky was becoming the deep red that indicated nightfall. "Then I will be off in the morning. I shouldn't be gone more than four days, five days max. I'm sure there is a cave or something nearbye he can stay in, right Brill?"

"Yes, actually, there is a little cavern in tghe mountain just above the town he can sit in. Nobody goes up that way anyway..." he said, nodding a few to many times, and speaking through a cracky voice. "Will that suit you, Asgrid?"

Halt Do'urden

Halt shrugged. "Well, I have a- I had a house and family waiting for me up north a ways. I had a girl waiting for me, but I doubt she's waiting anymore. Now I have nowhere to go. Liberating, in a sense." Halt laughed sadly "I guess if it's all right with you I'll go with you. See Babbette again perhaps. Maybe see Fianna again if she didn't get herself killed. Who knows."

Halt sighed a bit, and stroked his bow. Solid, unchanging. It and his knives were the only things he had left of a time before.

Boran nodded to Asgrim. "I'm sorry, my friend, but a campfire up there would look suspicious, and we'd need the body heat. We'll head on over to the local inn for the night, come see ya early in the morning, and then be off." Boran looked at Halt. "Well, I could use some help, if your willing. Lets iron out the details over drinks, eh?"

Halt Do'urden

Halt nodded. "Sounds good. The tavern across the street has good ale, mead, wine, beer, you name it. And the food isn't bad either." Halt walked over to the tavern, leaving Boran to finalize anything with the wood elf and Centurion. Once he got into the tavern Halt ordered a strong ale and rack of lamb.

"Youtake good care of him, now. I'm trusting you." boran whispered to Brill. "Goodbye, Asgrim, I will see you in the morning."

Boran headed back into town, and into the Moorside in. Halt was feasting on lamb as he entered, so Boran sat across from him. "Stro M'kai Rum, and some Venison." he added to the waitress, then put one hunred goldon the table. "And some privacy, if you please, Ma'am.

"Tahnk you sir." she said with a suspicious, but also happy smile. She pocketed the gold, then headed off.

"So, I'm guessing your pretty much out of the loop on my plans, then, Halt?" he asked, leaning on the table, and keeping a haf an eye out for suspicious characters.

Halt shrugged and took a sip of his ale. "I have no idea what you're planning, so yes. I can assume it's something less than" Halt glanced around, ensuring that nobody was close enough to hear him. "legitimate?"

Halt took another bite of lamb and another sip of ale.

Boran nodded politely as the barmaid brought him his food and drink, and waited for her to be at a safe distance. "The plan is simple. I'll be stealing something from the old Pelagious wing in the Blue Castle. I have to make it look like it was done by Aladur's "Golden Sabres", otherwise, it will j

The Black Horse Courier

Imperial Guard ransack Elven Garden District

Under the guidance of head of Guard Nathan Tullius, the Imperial Legion's home city guard tore through the Elven Garden Sector of the city, invading homes and searching premises for any and all signs of Aldmeri or Thalmor contatc.

While the official release of arrests have not been disclosed yet, eye witnesses say the guard courted off no less than twelve High Elves, along with a small rabble of other Mer races, and reportedly two Khajiit.

This was probably an act of worry, due to the Aldmeri Dimenion's influence gorwing in the border cities near the line between the two great nations. Not to mention the assasination of the late Chancellor Ocata. This reporter suspects the Aldmeri won't take the tretment of their race abroad lying down.

Keep tuned in to the Courier for more information as it comes our way.

Before the War-mage knew it, the second guard took an arrow to the face and dropped dead. The two other guards, mages by the look of them, saw their comrade fall dead and began to ready spells.

Resisting the urge to bellow a war-cry as he attacked, Aldus leapt from his hiding spot. Running towards the two mages he dodged a spell be jumping to the side, in mid-flight he put his foot out and pushed off the side of a cart. Having re-directed his trajectory Aldus brought his blade to the throat of one of the mages and drug it across his jugular. As he landed he dispelled the weightless blade and then brought both his hands into the face of the second mage and unleashed a searing torrent of flames. In the span it took for both men to fall dead it smelt like burnt flesh and both men we're covered in a pool of the first man's blood. Somehow the mage managed to not get a single drop on him.

Wiping an errant drop of sweat off his forehead he asked nonchalantly, "Good enough for you Shadow?"

Zemkal wrote:
"Yes, yes Asgrim, they are friends. Brill will be taking care of you," he pointed at Brill, "...while I am away."

"Trouly a remarkable specimen..." said Brill. "How is it you can speak, Asgrim?" he edged closer to Asgrim. "Oh, of course, the soul gems... how odd... how very, very odd..." he looked up at the Centurions stone-set face. "Do you understand your abilities, Asgrim? What makes your suit move? Why the dwemer made your armor?" he said all this while circling around Asgrim, staring him up and down.

Perhaps Boran would need to remind Brill where his responsibilities lie. "You will not disect him. He has the mind of a child, and is very confused. You will help him understand who he is, and what he is capable of. No one is to know about him."

Brill looked hurt, but Boran knew better. "How dare you question my loyalties? I am fully capable of this task. Still..." he turned back to Asgrim. "Tell me, son, do you sometimes hear other voices inside that suit?"

Boran rolled his eyes and turned back to Halt. "Sorry about that."

Asgrim Olafson

Asgrim watched as the odd wood elf scurried around him, examining the armor and proding him with questions. So much so he wasn;t sure how to answer, one doesn;t exactly retain every bit of knowledge when slumbering for thousands of years. Asgrim grabbed the little elf by the collar and held up their by the finger and the thumb as one would hold a rat. He spoke in his deep metallic voice, "Too many questions, Asgrim not know you."

Turning to Boran he said, "He take care of me? Sure? How long you gone boran? Meet babbette when come back?" As an after thought he also waved slightly at Halt and then pointed to himself. "Asgrim." He pointed at the Halt and then said questioningly, "You Halt?"

Kreamus stepped from the shadows with a hand on his chin. "Well... You have Grace... But not enough Arrows, or Stealth for me." he joked, and pointed at the door. "Lets get moving." he said, and opened the door.

Aldus Laurent,
"War-Mage"

Aldus laughed a little, "Grace? Who needs grace when I can kill you with an uttering of a few syllables. No I just needed to stretch my sword arm a bit." Aldus followed the Assassin through the door into the Forts interior.

Wasn't much special about it, just an old imperial fort most likely. The walls looked grimy and unkempt and the torches were dim. No guards so far though. Aldus did however see a tripwire and silently tapped Kreamus on the shoulder and pointed it out.

Asgrim Olafson

Outside Morthal

Asgrim started towards the cave, it wasn't a far walk, especially if you had a six foot stride. The boy ducked his massive head under the opening and sat down against the wall. Outside it began to snow and the wind howled against the cave walls.

Internally Asgrim frowned, the cold wouldn't bother him, in fact he couldn't feel it. In fact it was the sound of the wind that really unsettled him and the prospect of being left behind. Faced with no other options he drew the massive sword from its sheathe on his back and began to sharpen the edges.

It would be the only for the Thalmor to be stopped.

"Agreed, I will send a letter to Cyrodiil on the morrow," said Shavir.

Halt shrugged and took a sip of his ale. "I have no idea what you're planning, so yes. I can assume it's something less than" Halt glanced around, ensuring that nobody was close enough to hear him. "legitimate?"

Halt took another bite of lamb and another sip of ale.

Halt Do'urden

Halt nearly choked on a piece of his lamb. "You want to do WHAT?!"
He took a swig of his ale. "You want to steal from one of the most highly guarded areas in the city. And then pin the crime on someone else? Jeeze, I knew you were crazy, but not this crazy." Halt took another swig of ale and bite of lamb. "That said, I'm in."

Boran let out a low chuckle. "Good to know." he said, taking out his orcish knife, and taking his wooden plate in his hand. "It should not be that tough, actually" Boran mused, carving into the plate. "The Blue Castle's Pelagious wing is almost empty. Actually, according to my sources, it was barely used, for fear of the crazy bastard, since his death. They only went in to clear spider webs so as to keep any infestation out."

Boran dug his dagger into the table. "The first step will be scouting. I'll need to know guard movements, stations, and of course when the Jarl won't be afound to call the guard before I can even reach the door. The biggest problem, will, of course be convincing the guard out of the front of the castle and into the courtyard."

Boran looked around for anyone who showed even a slight interfest in their conversation, and saw no one.

He held up the plate he had been carving into. "This is where you, if you are still willing, come in." Boran slid a crudly carved image of troop movements from a terrible looking house, into the courtyard, all surrounding one man.

"This is going to be more tricky on your part than mine. Your going to have to figure out a way to get the guard to surround you without getting yourself arrested, without killing any of the Solitude Guard, and without ending up in the jails." Boran pointed at the image that was supposed to be Halt, a little triangle with a cxircle atop, hands held high, magic gleaming in one little stick figure hand.

As they walked into the fort, Kreamus scoffed, and said "My Friend, there are only two ways I kill a man. Either they are impressed while I'm doing it, or they don't know they're dead." When Aldus pointed out the tripwire, kreamus Cut it with his dagger. Two bolts of fire ran through the halls, and barely missed Aldus and Kreamus.

Aldus chuckled, "I kill in two ways my friend, quickly and efficiently, or by unleashing torrents of power." As Aldus watched the two fireballs hit the wall he smirked, good fortune had saved them some rather nasty burns.

This time Aldus took the lead and made his way through the halls of the fort until they came to the entrance to the dining hall. There would ten men inside, and one by the entry way having a smoke. Aldus noticed a second floor to the hall and he pointed it out to Kreamus. "Try and get up there without drawing their attention. Signal me as soon as your in position and I'll send the survivors your way." said the Breton with a grin.

Kreamus nodded. "Simple enough..." he said. "Come when you hear people screaming" he said, and smiled. He looked for stairs. The onlt ones where in the dining room he supposed. He looked, and saw an unlit torch banister, right under the second floor. with a jump, he climbed ontop of it. He then grabbed the floor of the second level, and pulled himself up. he snuck over above the dining room, and saw ten men. He noticed a small lamp oil container near the table, and a chandelleir above. "Too easy..." kreamus muttered, and Drew an arrow. He drew it back, and held it over a torch for a moment. when it was a flame, he aimed for the container. He fired (literally) and the tank made a small explosion. With the men under the chandleir, and shot the top of that. 4 men where crushed under it. He jumped down onto the table, and pulled his sword, and Dagger. "Hullo Gentelmen!" he yelled, hoping that was a good enough signal.

Aldus shook his head at Kreamus' flashy display. It was not what he had in mind, still maybe it would work. Drawing his dagger of draining he crept up to guard smoking a pipe. Without warning Aldus plunged it into where the mans shoulder and neck met. Soon he felt the mans vital essences being transferred to him.

Step one: Obtain living conduit

Focusing on the excess energy courtesy of his unwilling friend he summoned up a wall of electricity 6 feet tall. Instantly one of the other men at the table was turned to ash and the others soon turned their attention to the wall.

Step two: Break their will

Aldus began to walk forward, pushing the wall with him. As he did an arcs of lightning began jumping at the men, frying them where they stood. Soon they began to break and run.

Step three: Leave no survivors

As the men ran they would pass by Kreamus. Aldus allowed the wall to get just before lethal range of the Assassin before ending the spell. The guard he had drained the energy from was nothing more then a withered husk now, Kreamus could handle the last two.
