F7's chat is roleplay though.

I don't even know what that means, to be honest it all seems a little cultish to me and, to be further honest, I imagine the same will occur here. In my humble opinion, just let NSG be a little more chatty itself.

As I tried to explain elsewhere - it's just too much to moderate, given the speed that chat threads tend to move at. Too many makes too much work which equals just shutting it all down in favor of being able to keep up with the rest of the forums. I'd rather not do that, if this can work. Enough people seem to want it, it just felt right to try and make an effort, and see how it goes.

The powers that be provide the framework, but it's the people who participate that make the community. I kinda like to see wants and needs satisfied when they're reasonable and fit in with the general flow of things - I mean look how much the game and the forums overall have grown over the past near decade for proof of it. And The Man seems, from what I've seen, to like to encourage openness and participation on all sorts of levels, including being open to player input and suggestions. This seemed like a good way to move in that direction.

We just need community policing to handle any undesirable situations. Really, I think that's what was wrong with the other chat threads. If more people observed and follow the rules, it wouldn't have been locked.

Hmmm, this could be a great anti-anarchy argument...

One of the Desert Bus chat room moderators last year (Kroze) actually had a plushie banhammer somebody made. It was hilarious to watch him bashing the rest of the crew with it on the webcast. :lol2: Man, I cannot wait to see what LRR does for Desert Bus 5 this year!
