"Corruption cannot be destroyed by any cure. It is terminal, and so it is within the mercy of our courts to euthanize those who are corrupted, and purify our ranks to make sure the corruption does not spread." Justine said to Maddy and the guard. "Also Maven Auryn is a much beloved figure. To make such a thing public would create an uproar, and we would have a much more complicated trial and he'd be dragged before the press and expected to speak, but he's ill Maddy. He will not be cured by anything but a quick and merciful death, and that is what we plan to give him. He's your uncle. Surely you would not want him to suffer like this. To have him disgraced before everyone who loved him? That would be cruel. It is better this way."

You should be thanking me. He had the gall, the audacity to declare that unbidden are reasoned beings in our tribunal, with no regard for what is right and true! He was willing to spew his philosophy of hate to everyone in this council meeting. The very idea is absurd and the only reason that he is not being publicly executed is because we all respect him and adore him. This is not how I would want to remember the Hero who fought in the Wars of Attrition, and he is too far gone Maddy! If you could only heard what he said. It was horrible. He even declared himself as unbidden before us."
A convenient phrase taken out of context, and Chancellor Eames was visibly displeased, and Yalij was clearly fuming. Yalij had to step out as Eames looked at him as he ran off.
"I do not believe corruption is so easily gained, and nor is it easily lost. I have heard Judge Eylis researched heavily on the subject, but there's much more to be said with regards to that. Maven, as I know him, will refuse to use any of Judge Eylis's material even if it would spare his life. I know him too well." Eames Gromkin said as he shook his head."We will have to check something else. There's little what we can do, but Maven has a week to put his affairs in order. The next full moon. It doesn't give us a lot of time."

To: The City Of Sylandral,
From:The Beastling States of Crystal Spires
Chosen Aryiah Mercine,
I am writing you a request to ask for your help in appealing to the Court of the Uncorruptibles. They have found High Chancellor Maven Auryn guilty of corruption when he was cleared by the Rod of Judgement. They still intend to carry the sentence to the rite of purification on him, which means Maven Auryn will be killed within a week. I ask that you help me by intervening on his behalf. Help me appeal for his life. Maven is a truly uncorrupted man, and the truth is in the Rod of Judgment. You know well what kind of person Maven is.
Hoping you will help,
To: The City Of Altea,

Archon Martel,
I am writing you a request to ask for your help in appealing to the Court of the Uncorruptibles. I fear they have made a mistake regarding the verdict of the High Chancellor Maven Auryn. He was cleared by the Rod of Judgement, but they still intend to carry the sentence to the rite of purification on him. I am aware of your disagreements with Maven in the past, but even you know that Maven is one of the few beastling leaders reasonable enough to keep a peace between our two nations. It is with this plea on behalf of peace that I ask for you to help me appeal his sentence. I know Maven is not corrupted. He is one of the purest believers I know.
Hoping you will help,

She knew now that Dariken was truly worried about Maven Auryn as she suspected. She wanted to help ease his mind, but she didn't know how. She took a cool wet cloth and put it on his head with the idea of trying to lower his fever or to calm the shock a little bit.
Maven Auryn, I wonder what Maven did to earn so much love and respect from you that the very thought of him being in tribunal was enough to make you faint?
"Wake up... wake up." She whispered in his ear.

"You also said something about Maven. High Chancellor Maven Auryn. Do you know him? You really took the news so hard that you passed out. I haven't ever seen anyone pass out over an uncorruptible tribunal before. This is normal with most politicians, but this is the first time any with Maven has lasted so long. I'm not sure what the verdict is yet, but I'm sure we'll know soon enough. I hope it's nothing bad..." She said while attempting to comfort Dariken. "Maven is not a corrupt man."

You just don't seem the type, so why do you think that you'll lead Maven to his death?" Amalia asked curiously. She sat down and lay her giant broadsword on the floor and listened intently.
He really seems distraught. Could Maven Auryn really be in danger of facing the Rite of Purification as he worries so? she wondered as she looked at him.
"Just what did Maven do? You seem to have an idea why he's being tried in the first place. Maybe I can help. I can talk to the Church." Amalia relaxed and listened carefully.

To the Beastling States of Caltris,
It is a tragedy that one such as Maven would be sentenced to death despite proof of innocence. The elves protest this lack of justice, and wish to see Maven given a new, fair, trial, at the least.

"A kind heart is a gift from the Gods, and surely is no reason to declare someone corrupt for showing kindness. It is a gift from our Lady Goddess Nenya. In fact the High Priestess has been discussing something important she has discovered. Recent research attained from Caltris has revealed to us about an unbidden who might qualify as a reasoned being. The research was attained by the sisters of Mercy when they were paying a visit to Maven Auryn. If an unbidden can qualify as a reasoned being there's no way there's a good excuse to slay Maven for such a thing no matter what you are. I think this is a great injustice. If I were to speak with her Grace about it, I'm sure she would hear what you have to say." Amalia said as she crossed her arms angered at the idea of slaying someone for showing kindness.
