Each relic has its weakness and each weakness is beyond most people's use.
The Blade of Dusk slowly eats away the magic of its user as they use it. Their magic is exhausted quicker than they would without, and they become unable to use it once its power is fully activated.
The Locket of Eventide consumes the soul of the one who loses themselves to despair.
The Spectral harp drives the one who uses it mad due to hearing it's tune.
The Rod of Judgment consumes memories.
The Cowl of Mourning banishes all will to fight.
The Lucante Grimoire is completely without fault and is always right.

I obviously need some kind of plan to break him out, and that bit doesn't seem like it will be difficult..." He frowned, his voice dropping. "But to get there? Do I have to work with his friends?"
"Terradin is deep in the Dwarven Empire... And you need not work with his friends, but it may help you if you do. Listen to me, Dar'khan. I hate the Bidden as much as you do... They have caused us so much pain. However, if we start acting more Bidden than they are... Wouldn't that maybe force them to act a bit more civilized? We have met them blade for blade for centuries, and we have not come any more closer to peace. If peace is what we want, we must show it, and we should start by standing for what is right," Nirdasil said, "You might ask, 'Who is she to determine what is right? She used to be so evil!' That is true. However, I am trying to change my ways... And to be honest with you, Dar'khan, I don't know what I would do with myself if any harm befell that Beastling without a just cause. What he is held for is not a just cause... Please, please do this for me. I beg of you."
She threw herself at his feet in order to show just how much this mission meant for her.

The Duskblade exhausts magic, and would have to be deactivated in order to regain one's vigor. In addition, one would have to rest for 8 hours minimum to regain this power. However the activation of the blade of dusk makes it Vorpal.
To activate the relics, the relics must be whole, they must be prepared, and the invocation of the respective gods spoken. Each Relic possesses these invocations and so they also have a true power that is beyond the ability of most to wield them.

Dar'khan tenderly pulled her to her feet, frowning. "Please, don't..." he murmured, almost to himself, then nodded. "But I will save him. I need to find him faster though... which means either getting the information from you, or finding the Grimoire." He frowned. "If you have precise information, I will do it for you. If not, then I must get back the Grimoire from the idiot. Pardon my language... the fool."

Crystal Spires wrote:"Oh, a tower? I have not seen it before, but I suppose I was not looking carefully enough." Amalia said as she looked at the tower and had a moment of confusion.
She looked at Dariken and somehow was not used to seeing Dragon beastlings. She herself was a dragon changeling so she was confused to see this hybrid mix, and she was slightly amused and also curious.
"I'm not used to coming this way which is why I got lost, so what are you doing here too? This place seems dangerous, and those also seem dangerous." She said gesturing to the grenades. "Is someone trying to hurt you?" She asked with concern, "I can fight them off. I'm used to dealing with bandits, assassins, and criminals."

The Locket of Eventide is not whole. It misses the sea, the flame, the earth, and sky. Without the stones it cannot phase. Its true power is impossible to achieve.

It's been like that all my life just, because I'm different. Noone get to know me, my personallity, my abilities, and that; and people automatically hate me. So..." Dariken paused for a second, his eyes almost tearing up, "Um, nevermind any of that, I would love for you to help me out."

Crystal Spires wrote:"I can help. I know the Judges from Caltris, but is it strange. They have been quiet lately, perhaps because of the tribunals by Uncorruptibles, but I have never known the tribunals to last any longer than a day, because there are no corrupt judges or councilmen in Caltris. I hear however there was a great uproar for reasons unknown. I was writing my order in the town nearby and they say that there has been a huge ruckus with the High Chancellor, and it has been rather quiet since. I don't know what has happened. Usually the tribunals for the High Chancellor are quickly dismissed, because Maven's a deeply kind and righteous Councilman, but to have the tribunal last this long is deeply concerning. I wonder what has happened in Caltris?" She said with a slight voice of concern.

"Maddy... I..." Maven said with a sad smile. He was happy that Maddy had come, but it was much too late. He could not hug her nor tell her goodbye. He just watched as Eryeil Nendis became furious and led him aside pulling him by his chains.
"SILENCE! You must not speak." Eryeil Nendis said to Maven who hung his head and quietly was lead off as Yalij practically had a panic attack.
"They're going to execute him Maddy, and we have to stop them! They're going to kill him when he didn't do anything wrong! The Rod of Judgement cleared him of wrongdoing, but they don't care! They just want to punish him and silence him for knowing the truth that the unbidden are truly reasoned beings! If he speaks out we will have to protect them by Caltris's laws. This means they're just doing it to silence Maven! They hate the unbidden so much that they're willing to kill Caltris's most beloved High Chancellor without even giving him the chance to speak the truth..." Yalij said as Eames tried to calm him down as he teared up watching as the guards prevented him from passing.

Crystal Spires wrote:"He fainted." Amalia stated the obvious. She immediately tended to him and carried him to his tower.
He said Zaiden didn't he? That is strange. No one usually says Zaiden unless it's a curse or something. He seems like he's had a rough time. He said he was singled out for his race, and Maven has always been an advocate for Race Relations. Maybe Maven was his Mediator or spoke on his behalf. It's not unlike him. Maven is uncharacteristically kind to all peoples. Why would he be killed for going to help Maven? all this information didn't seem to add up in Amalia's head, so instead she took care of the immediate concern which was that he was injured. Amalia was first and foremost a priestess of compassion and so she didn't worry about such things and tenderly cared for Dariken as he was unconscious.
