However, I just wanted to conclude that the Union of America (formerly the Great Lakes Alliance) includes:
-Minnesota
-Indiana
-Michigan
-New York
-Pennsylvania
We look forward to adding:
-Arizona
And we would like these nations to join, if possible:
-Ohio
-Wisconsin
-Maryland (had a previous conversation with you, I do not know if you're still going to join)

I thought that was how new York would have reacted. No hard feeling I'm rl thouggh. Just. Staying in character. Not to mention the AU is a little weary of an Imperialist Supergovernent. Builds some nice tension up don't you think

SYM- Sorry I disconnected, my brother wanted to play Xbox, and, well, one connection can not live while the other survives.

Actually, most of america wouldn't give two shits about something like this. Americans are, and this is a generalization I include myself in, are not fond of sympathy for those who turn their backs on us, like the federal government did in this RP. In real life, if this had happened, it really wouldn't be seen as a bad thing, but not good either.

The Us population would not passively sit through an annexation of territory. The UN makes american's feel like their soverignty is threatened, let alone an actual invasion

You aren't taking into account what I said. Americans aren't friendly to those that turn against us or abandon us. The Federal government, in this RP, did just that. It up and left. Why would Americans be outraged at an annexation of the very city that abandoned them?

I'd send the IF twenty bucks if they took Washington in a situation like this.

You are not hurting the federal government, because it doesn't exist anymore. You're hurting people who live there, and are sustaining themselves. And considering new Yorkers a relatively liberal and pro central government, we would be sentimental regarding dc.
And for someone who detests federal government, you were quick to join a new one
( this is to cundunum, and no hard feelings, my point was I was offering depth and conflict to the story, politics aside.)

HAHAHA! New federal government. Did you really think that we are actually turning into US #2? I'd say that about the UoA because their name and how they act is pretty close to it.
If you actually bothered reading the IF Constitution, you'd actually find out that we aren't using the old Fed-style to govern us. And we even made it possible for members to leave.

You assume to quickly. I detest the American government. I believe it is too conservative. Even when democratic, it is conservative, as American politics is unusually right-leaning. Now, that being said, you are also assuming that human beings are reasonable. We are, most often, highly irrational beings. When something acts against us, we want revenge. It's ingrained into our psyches from birth. We are evil, detestable beings that occasionally aspire to do something less-than-evil. So, as irrational, evil beings, our political opinion would not matter if welfare, social security, healthcare, employment, law, and everything government run was either canceled or turned over to the state government, which would not be able to handle all of these responsibilities so soon. As a result, we would want revenge. After a few months, the knowledge of someone else carrying out this act for us would be satisfactory, instead of detestable.

Sure terrorists needs to be watched and prevented, but we can't go into every place to defeat terrorism. America has debt problems, stagnant economy which is rapidly losing to China, stagnant government (thanks to everyone not compromising and getting stuff done), and just loss of self-confidence.
I believe that America can still be better than China and all the other nations anti-American people spout. I just want our leaders to realize that they need to take a step back and see what they've done to us.
