Like George Lucas when he wrote the Star Wars series, it was all one giant movie, but FOX made him break it up because it was too long. But no more!!! We must have one long ass RP!!!!

Actually, it would probably be state borders. Borders are there for a reason, and associated with landmarks, culture, politics, etc. The borders would probably never change.

Although, I could remove state lines to show each nation as well... a nation rather than collection of states.

We're not empires. Its just new nations. Empires will never exist in the US, the political ideology is just too far off. Borders are important for a lot of reasons and there is a reason they don't change. Most follow physical features in the States anyway, so it's silly to move them. Yes, states could be merged, like I mentioned, but the borders of states rarely, rarely have ever changed with good reason. I'm not sure the cities you're just signing off will appreciate the move - hell, there's protests when county lines change. Can you even imagine if they just got sold off? If we want to because its NS and lulzy, then fine, its just not realistic.

War with Mexico. Before the Tennessee War (and whatever you guys are doing with Florida), this could be what drives us apart. Some nations vote war, some vote no... illegal immigration is through the roof, rioting everywhere, drugs galore, WHAT. CAN. BE. DONE. Mexican government at odds with America... we send in troops. OOH RAH. Another thing we never did, mainly because, I know, its just an F7, but still - the UN. NATO. Organizations like that - what happens to these new nations? America was involved in a LOT of organizations. Do we all apply as separate ententes? If that happened they'd intervene in our wars, which could be a pain in the ass or really cool.

Just some thoughts, making it more realistic.
