I know, I considered that we'd barter until the Imperial Credit (?) was introduced. The exchange was
1 ton of tobacco is 1.5 tonnes of food
1 ton of cigarettes is equivalent to 2.25 tonnes of food
1 ton of cigars is equal to 5 tonnes of food
To put money on it, I'll use today's exchange system, which is
$40,000 for one ton of tobacco
$14,545 for a ton of cigarettes
$~56,000 for a ton of cigars (Though no one sells a ton of cigars)
