"Aye. You'll see."

Vlad turned away from Zero, grumbling to himself.
'Master?'
Vlad looked around and walked into a corner.
'Did you find him?' he replied.
'Yes I did, master. He entered a building with a woman. Shall I continue?'
Vlad pondered for a moment 'Proceed.'

Luc leaned against the wall, obviously bored. Not much had happened all this while, as he could observe. The guys had stopped fighting, Zero had some kind of deadly mixture for Vanessa to use to take the Spear of Horus, which was supposed to be the only thing that could harm Nur. But he didn't really care at the point. He was too drowsy. As his eyelids closed slowly, he slipped into the realm of dreams, where his nightmares continued to plague him...

***

This time it wasn't a memory of his ancestors anymore. It was his own, and quite recent in fact, perhaps three months ago. It was two days after his mother's death, before the funeral. He was in the police station, under interrogation by the cops. The look on their faces was of disbelief, while they scoffed after listening to his story.

"...So you're saying that... Demons... Ripped your mother's stomach and fed on her innards?"

"Yup," he replied, placing his feet on the table and annoying the cop asking the questions, who looked at his notes.

"Then they tore her intestines and wrapped it around her throat until... Until it came off rolling on the floor?"

"Uh-uh,"

"And they pressed her skull until it burst open, and sprayed the blood on the walls, like so?" He showed him the picture of the crime scene.

"Yeah, like that."

The cop peered out of the room, then asked, "Are you sure it wasn't a person? I mean, it's not that we don't believe you—" Luc smirked. "—but in some cases the witnesses can't believe that a person was capable of such violence."

"No. I'm sure of it." He looked at the clock on the wall. "Can I go now?"

The cop sighed. "Sure. Just don't leave town."

Luc walked off with a confident grin on his face as he casually closed the door behind him with a tendril of shadow. He knew a person was capable of such acts. A man was behind it, he was certain. He had seen him himself. He had entered his house, and with a devilish grin, he ordered his demons, wyrms to be exact, to slaughter his mother, as he watched the whole scene with gleeful glowing black eyes. God knows why he wanted such violence, and why he spared him. But what was certain was that Luc would hunt him down to his last breath. The police would not interfere with his revenge.

"We going now?" asked Al impatiently, tapping his foot.
Ben shushed and calmed him, bringing him in for a kiss. Al resisted at first but soon embraced Ben and accepted it.
