Hell, orange eyes were already rare enough to begin with. Then there were the flames. They came whenever he had negative feelings, and raised in intensity as the feelings grew.

However, this was soon disrupted, as he figured out how to avoid further questions, or at least he hoped so. Henry let out a chuckle. "Thanks. Yours are pretty too." He said.

"If you like gray, I guess." She shrugged, remembering why she came here in the first place.

"Anyways, I'll probably be seeing you again one of these days, after all, there is only one high school nearby." She saluted him with her cigarette hand, and stood straight, walking away towards the StarBucks.

Wayne noticed Ariana was avoiding his eyes, which was fine by him. Whenever he looked people in the eyes, the little feelings he got about them manifested themselves into little sprinklings of memories. And those memories were rarely pleasant. It wasn't that they themselves were painful, but the mere action of remembering was difficult. It raised the question, what was he remembering? He himself was rarely, if ever, involved in these situations.

"You go to the high school?" he asked. He noted another boy approach Ariana. He also caused a reaction as if he should be familiar. Yet he wasn't. All of this uncertainty was definitely not what Wayne needed...

"Will be my first year there, but not my first high school year. I am moving here from LA this year." Ariana said, "you?" This time she accidently looked into his eyes.
Damn force of habit. Ever since her eyes had changed, she had to adjust her habits to avoid the eye contact.

Inside Wayne's Mind

Wayne's very perception of reality shook and wavered as his eyes met Ariana's. They were a deep violet, and beautiful. Not that that would be having an effect on him. No, it was the POWER that flowed from them, the absolute ENERGY. Within seconds, he found another short memory fragment fill his mind...

Ariana sat on a pile of rocks, crying. Another voice spoke to her, trying to calm her down. Suddenly, a hand popped out form behind Wayne's view and placed it on her shoulder.

"It'll be alright," came his own voice.

Wayne in the Physical World

Wayne jumped back, visibly shocked. For the first time, he was in the memory. He knew her somehow.

"Yeah. See you, I guess." Henry replied, saluting as well. Once she left, he let out a sigh of relief. She didn't suspect a thing, which was good. He didn't want to get chased away for being a freak. All the punishment those damn doctors put him through was certainly more than enough, even for him. But now he was safe.

The meeting itself wouldn't have much of an impact on him though. After all was said and done, Henry only knew one thing, thanks to his talent. Her name was definitely Nihil.

As he thought about this, his mind drifted off. He began to ponder the origin of his marks, especially the fire snake on his back. His thoughts then drifted off to the powers he had and, finally, to his nightmares. Most doctors said that the fire snake in his dreams was something psychological, related to the fact that he didn't know the origin of the one on his back.

Shrugging these thoughts off, Henry walked around the mall. In but a few minutes he managed to get everything that was left on his list.

En Sabah Nur had gotten used to living in the States so far. The Egyptian exchange student made his way down the mall and saw a small group of students. He went over to introduce himself.
"As sala'amu alaikum fellow students! I will be attending school with you tommorow." He wore a plesaed expression, but his dark eyes said something else.

"Odd kid." She said. He must be someone like her, considering fucking fire was in his eyes. But to be frank, she didn't really care.

Nihil crumpled the cigarette in her hand before stepping in line, ahead of a few others.

"Hey Nihil, same as always ?" The cashier said, pulling a carrying plate out with coffee on it.

"Of course." He nodded and she leaned in and kissed him on the forehead giving him a half-hearted grin, then grabbed the coffee from behind the counter and continued on her way.

The food court was rather empty, considering it was a Sunday, but then again it was long past church service for most of the fuckers around town. Maybe the mall was just a lame place to be, but lame was subjective.

Nihil's mind wandered, she slapped herself in the head and shook off stupid thoughts. A whole lot of tables were empty, so she picked one in the far corner and sat down, placing the carrier on the table and grabbing her own coffee. Whipped cream to the brim, black coffee in the rest, with just a bit of sugar and cream. The only thing she shared with her father was their taste for coffee, oh, and living in squalor. And smoking. Bah.

Seeing as no one was answering his greeting, Nur, in a small huff, got into the line for some food. I do despise this American food.

He looked over to see a semi-attractive girl sitting by herself. Well, the ladies arent too bad.

Nur went over to sit by the girl.

"I don't really have parents, per se." She said, mixing the vodka in with a tiny stir of her coffee straw, before downing a big gulp.

"My name is Ferro." he said with his usual Italian accent, trying to make the conversation as non-awkward as possible. "I think we're going to the same school, I remember seeing you while registering."

Ferro was thinking to himself "Hmm.. It seems that she can make you stare into space indefinitely by looking into your eyes, that's unusual. I'll make sure not to make eye contact with her in that case."

16-year-old Alphonse Tenellet, commonly known as Al, walked through the mall, getting his school supplies. He was a bit sad that summer was over, but also a bit happy that he would get to learn more. And he was sad that he would have to go to school.
He smiled at the cashier and walked towards the exit. He had no more reason to stay at the mall.
He whipped his head to the side, thinking that he had seen something in his peripheral vision, but ignored it after he saw that there was nothing there. It had looked like an Imp, and Imps weren't real, right?
