I'm depressed, angry and outraged. I just saw on the news that some asshole took his seven year old son (his only one, btw) who had cerebral palsy, and decapitated him, and left the head out near the street in front of his house. Apparently, the guy was in the military for 9 years, had only a few arrests for misdemeanors, and had no mental health issues prior to this.

I'd like to tell myself this was a mercy killing, but the part where he left the severed head out front kinda makes that motive unlikely.

I can't agree with a mercy killing unless the person is going to die a slow, painful death anyways.

That happened sometime last night, and the father's already in jail on $5 million bond. Apparently, if convicted, he will get the death penalty.
