My best advice is simple. Wrap it, elevate it, ice it, and sleep it off. If you're experiencing the same pain in the morning, you'd best make an appointment. Bruises can be deceptive, but by the following morning they are far, far less severe. It's the best way to tell whether or not a bone is broken, as well.
