Most North Americans pronounce the "aw/au" vowel extremely incorrectly as an ugly "ah", so you can't criticize.

"Au" is a diphthong. A lot of words in English spelt with "au" haven't had that value for a few centuries.

Oh, I know your phonological evolution is hell messed up. So are those of the French, and Spaniards and their Hispanic descendants.

I like "oh" and "aye" as monophthongs pronounced about the same of Dutch oo and ee.

They have this pronunciation in the north of England. :3

Eh, a dielect can't be better than another. It just depends on what you like to hear in a language. I personally like Brazilian Portuguese better than Continental Portuguese and Mexican Spanish than Castellano.
