I also did not say that the French Revolution was progressive. If it came out that way, I worded it wrong. I wouldn't call the beheading of thousands of people who were against or who people thought were against the Revolution progressive. I still don't get how you at all think I said that chopping heads off was progressive. The French Revolution was a mess, and extremely violent. What I was saying, is that France endured so much shit to get rid of the absolute monarchy they had, just to get to Napoleon making himself the total ruler of France followed by King Louis XVIII after he was instated as king at the Congress of Vienna.

You said the French Revolution was more progressive then Napoleon. Yet he was quite progressive that you don't like the fact has to do with your own ideological problems. You have still failed to address how Code Napoleon, restructuring of Class and Jewish Suffrage was not extremely progressive. In fact all you have done is whined that he was an autocrat. Let's not kid ourselves here. Napoleon also reinstated slavery, which had been outlawed by the Jacobins, and tried desperately to hold onto the slave empire in Haiti. Napoleon was no less of a mixed bag then the Jacobins or Girondists. He executed his opponents just as ruthlessly as Robespierre.

Depending on what Japan did, Germany could have won the European, North African, and Middle East (?) Theaters during WWII. I'm not claiming this idea as my own, but I can't remember who told me this, but had Japan attacked India instead of the US, then there are many scenarios that branch off of that which would result in Britain being forced out of the war.

Except, of course, a Japanese invasion of India would've failed.
