IMO, he was, like Napoleon, corrupted by the amount of power he had just with his regime and with his military.

You just compared Hitler to Napoleon? Are you fucking serious? You are comparing one of the most progressive rulers of his time to a man who led the slaughter of "inferiors"? :palm:

OKH drew up the plans for Operation: Barbarossa in fact it was Hitler and Jodl who revised them. So you were saying? :eyebrow:

More like not fought the war, at least not with so many enemies. He really bit off more than he could chew even before he started ignoring the good advice of his generals. If he had listened to them, he could have kept Germany in a position to negotiate a peace on more favorable terms instead of just being flattened and surrendering, but Germany couldn't have held all the territory they occupied during the war. On the other hand, they could have avoided that whole Iron Curtain thing.

And Hitler was NOT an art major. He was denied admission to go to art school. I was an art major, and I'd appreciate it if you didn't lump me in the same category as my dumbass Fuehrer.
The Serene and Glorious Reich of Nazi Flower Power has existed for longer than Nazi Germany! Thank you to all the brave men and women of the Allied forces who made this possible!

As long as the US is giving Lend-Lease to the Soviets, then outside of a very narrow window during September-October 1941, then defeat is pretty much inevitable on the Eastern Front.

The fundamental mistake that doomed the German war effort was Operation Typhoon. Rather than taking Leningrad in a decisive blow that Fall, and trying to shorten their supply lines, they decided to go straight for the heart at Moscow. With the sheer distances, and the state of Soviet rail transport, adding in the break of guage and the lack of rolling stock, basically the Germans had an insurmountable logistical problem.

America was already going to hop in. Japan was just a rallying point. We were already shipping Britain weapons. Hitler could of conquered all of Europe but he lacked the naval power to mount an attack on Britain.

The Great Terror is often quite exaggerated, for one. The number of victims can be numbered in the thousands. Further, it wasn't a direct continuity from Robespierre to Napoleon. After the overthrow of the Jacobins, there were several changes of power under various groups, such as the Girondists, the Directorate, etc., before Napoleon even became consul, let alone crowning himself Emperor.

It was the self-crowning as Emperor of France that disillusioned a lot of liberals in Europe. For example, Beethoven's Fourth Symphony, I believe, was originally dedicated to Napoleon, but right before the debut performance, he crowned himself Emperor, so Beethoven rededicated it to the French Revolution.

And so what? He crowned himself and it was done in a way to remove Papal authority over the crown. All I see is a lot of boohooing that you Reds couldn't slaughter people with guillotines anymore and that order was brought to Chaos.

I still don't get how you at all think I said that chopping heads off was progressive. The French Revolution was a mess, and extremely violent. What I was saying, is that France endured so much shit to get rid of the absolute monarchy they had, just to get to Napoleon making himself the total ruler of France followed by King Louis XVIII after he was instated as king at the Congress of Vienna.

You said the French Revolution was more progressive then Napoleon. Yet he was quite progressive that you don't like the fact has to do with your own ideological problems. You have still failed to address how Code Napoleon, restructuring of Class and Jewish Suffrage was not extremely progressive. In fact all you have done is whined that he was an autocrat. Get the fuck over it.
