The Democrats' ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory notwithstanding, I don't see that. I think 2012 could be close, but given the front-runners on the GOP right now, and the Tea Party insanity, I think it's going to be a Democratic victory. The only question is, how large?

the thing is obama does do well against nameless generic republicans in the polls but he kicks the ass of every republican who is thought to be actually running.
so the republicans have to find someone else if they want to win. someone who can get past the lunatic base but not BE a lunatic.
which is technically possible. or obama might make a catastrophic error. but as it stands things are not looking good for the republicans taking the whitehouse.

I think that President Obama will probably get the Dem's nomination and I am hoping for Ron Paul from the republican side, but I don't know that that is very practical. If that doesn't happen (or perhaps even Gary Johnson) then I am hoping for a viable Libertarian candidate.

I'll be supporting Newt Gingrich in the primaries. Romney compromises to much.

gingrich is so far past his "sell by" date that not even his ex-wives will vote for him!

I'm not a huge Obama fan, but this weird claim that he "hasn't done much" for "important issues" is such bunk.

Just a little reading to get started.
I don't LIKE all the shit he's accomplished, and I certainly think his focus is wrong in many place, but it's stupid to pretend that he isn't getting shit done. Given the Republican obstructionism, I think Obama's administration is actually getting a surprising amount done.

At least, in my experience at least.
