I would prioritize renewable energy. Which would not give me re-election points but it would give our grandchildren's children a future better than starvation and feudal war after peak oil.

If I was Obama I'd do the world a favor and shoot myself and Biden in the head. Really though I would stop handing out money and just let people keep 90% of what they earn in the first place. Alternatively, I could admit that I'm not a natural born US citizen.

1. Public Works Programs: Putting people to work on High Speed Rail, rebuilding roads, rebuilding bridges

Such questions are so limited to me, I feel the need to have much more power than a simple president in the "if I were <insert leader here>" scenario.
What can Barack Obama do really? He can push agendas and is basically at the whim of a referendum for almost all major plans.

If I were him, I would probably keep on the same damn path he's currently on, attempting to be a moderate.
If I wanted to be re-elected, and I hadn't screwed up the country too much I would just quietly go about doing things to make me look better.
Charities, condemning leadership of dictatorships, setting up various conferences between senators and representatives, and most of all give speeches.
Oddly enough, giving people a tax cut wouldn't get much public support at this point in time, so I would not try to pass a tax cut in congress. Really, no matter what he does someone's going to call him a nazicommiehitlerjew.
