In a perfect world, reforming the American public education system would be my first priority, but realistically there's little hope of that happening in the next ten months. I would be looking into the vast realm of money-eating bureaucracy that is Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid first.

No, I'd probably try and fix the tax code, by eliminating all deductions, breaks and cuts; focus on taxing everybody at a lower, though progressive, tax bracket.

I would greatly expand the scholarships and financial aid available for students as part of a grand plan to reform the education system. After that, I'd strongly consider various ways to bring money into the country (e.x. lowering tariffs, bringing the troops out instead of installing more bases), and begin pandering to my democratic base. I'd strongly urge my party to lead the charge and stand up for what they believe in rather than watering down legislation just to feign being centrist.

If I were Barack Obama, I'd be nothing like Barack Obama. I'd withdraw from all wars, decentralize and demonopolize currency, and legalize all "victimless crimes" including intellectual monopoly violations.
