^This.

They need to have their pay docked and they need to be disciplined. But since they're government employees and they are deserting their post, I think they need to be made an example of. Throw the book at them, do everything that can legally be done to them. If that's not enough, then laws ought to be passed making the consequences of deserting one's post quite dire for anyone who thinks that government employees are somehow above everyone else and can get away with it.

And yet you're bitching that the Senators aren't doing their jobs by not going back to Wisconsin and caving in. How disingenuous.

Weird the Dems have complete control of both bodies of the legislative and the governor for years in wisconsin. And they dont even have a filibuster rule  ........

I think the dems just didnt like the minority repubs before Nov 2010 to even filibuster s, problem here is that in Nov 2010 they didnt expect the state to turn into deep red. Now they dont even want to play to the rules they have set when they bully the minority repubs for years when the Dems were majority. OMG WI dont even have a filibuster rule ! Let us just run away it sucks to be a minority!

The Democrats are doing what they think is best and so let them do it.

And how exactly does stripping collective bargaining rights decrease the debt?

Because anything the Republicans want to do regardless of its actual effect decreases the debt.

Deserting their post? Are they the Italians on the Gate of Charisius or something? Taking legal actions against parliamentary tactics sets a bad precedent.

Not really. Government in GENERAL has too much power. If the government was smaller, had a laissez-faire policy (enforced by laws) and things like social security and medicare were cut (they're going to go bankrupt anyway), we'd be living in a utopia.

Yes, they are.
It's good to see Democrats do the right thing for once. It's a shame when they're no more than just the good cop wing of the good cop/bad cop Corpocrat (Republican-Democratic) party.

Well decreasing the debt is Walker's objective with his legislation. So if it doesn't decrease the debt then it has to be just a cheap shot at the Unions by Republicans. It seems like to Conservatives or right-wing libertarians that it is sacrilegious to tax the rich, but okay to dismantle Unions and cut services for the lower and middle class.

Social security will be able to pay 100% of it's benefits until 2037, and 70% after that for many years. Bullshit talking points don't make fact.

It is because WI is a blue state for years ....... they didnt expect for it to turn red suddenly. Now they do not like to play to the same rules they have set up for years.

WI dont have any filibuster for the repubs before .... do we hear any repubs complaining about this?

Yup, here it comes although not exactly the way you expected.

Let's see, the U.S. had a BUDGET SURPLUS at the end of the Clinton administration and the debt was being reduced. Then the Supply Side voodoo economists talked Bush into spending the surplus on tax cuts for the wealthy rather than continuing to pare down the debt. The promise was an even bigger budget surplus as the wealth "trickled down." What a load of crap. Those of us that actually understand economics know that Supply Side theories don't work unless your objective is simply to make the rich richer.

What about this do you not understand? Please, do not take my word for this. All of the information is available for inspection and download at the Congressional Budget Office web site.

That may be true be he was the first President elected after the cold war, which ment a huge cut in defense spending that really had not be heard of since before the 20th century.

They're less FASCIST? I'm pretty sure the Democrats are the big-government advocates here. And big government leads to Statism, Statism leads to Autocracy, and Autocracy leads to slavery.

They're both in favor of large, authoritarian government, both are quite corporatist, they're both corrupt, both quite militaristic, nationalistic (assumed for any american party tbh), neither is particularly enthused with civil rights, etc. The details are different, but the broad strokes are the same. They're different sides of the same coin, nothing more, nothing less.

There's a reason they call Wisconsin a "Swing State." It didn't just turn red all of a sudden. Wisconsin has had a very independent streak for quite some time. ;)
