i mean, come on. the repubs reassigned the dems staffers. their laughable claim was that then they would 'have someone to contact in the building'. so member of the WI government-in-exile* chris larson had this to say:"I would be very interested in letting [majority leader] Sen. Fitzgerald know about a new technology called the cellular telephone. I thought he was aware of it. What it does, is it gives a senator the ability to keep in touch with his staff when he is not in that building."
and one of the other guys outsmarted the repubs when it came to picking up his paycheck, too. and, of course, the repubs have now banned the horrific assault on liberty known as prank calling, but not for any reasons at all related to the governor looking like a koch-sucker after one, no siree!
*(seriously, i want them to commandeer the SS badger and start broadcasting radio free wisconsin - the voice of the wisconsin government-in-exile)

dahling it is just so convenient now to use polls (maybe its is fashionable cause we are now entering spring), so why did the Dems did not do the same at the height of the healthcare reform bill opposition.
Because it was a necessity! We had to go against the will of our constituents to pass the horribly sloppy bill!

What I meant to say was that I saw the Democrats actually working to get this passed, and the Repubs just sitting back and voting yes without saying a word in support (which isn't true, since the article mentioned one repub who attempted to work out a compromise - but still, that was the only republican mentioned in the entire article).

At this point I'm pretty tempted to reply with "dream on." His approval ratings are spectacularly bad right now.
Too early to say, really, his approval rating isn't beyond the ordinary for a president coming out of a midterm year.

Where does this idea that Obama's approval numbers are bad come from? His approval/disapproval numbers on Gallup are about tied, floating in the mid-forties. That's hardly "spectacularly bad."

God, ever since Clinton got impeached, I've just assumed the sitting President is at 45% "approval".
It seems to be a better barometer for public opinion than the dart throwing that is polling. It explains how Bush was elected in 04.

Bush got re-elected in '04 because the damned Democrats didn't have the balls to hit back at the Swift Boat idiots and the rest of the crap the GOP threw at them. A contest between a candidate who actually served in Vietnam and one whose entire military service consists of dental records showing he got his teeth fixed while in the Air National Guard and the second guy wins?

I have a friend who was in the army, he told me if Kerry won, that he and his squad would shoot themselves in the foot.

If I had it my way they'd still be getting horsewhipped by their CO for talking like that. Preferably in front of the rest of their division.

Now, now, that's cruel and unusual punishment. They would, however, be guilty of malingering.

If being homosexual is disruptive to morale, actively protesting against your commander in chief with self-mutilation ought to be treason at least. Then again we can't expect "Social Conservatives" to be anything but hypocrites. :/
