I've only been AQed three times in 2 years.
But I set up a few, too.

Just be yourself. If you're a likeable character, and you're witty, you'll likely either end up in this thread or in someone's sig. The key is to not try too hard. Just say what you want to say. Want to be serious? Be serious. Want to be funny? Try and be funny. I understand the need to feel noticed and worthy, but stuff like that is just a lovely bonus of being a member of the forums.

I've been AQed and I'm the lead in for a few more, but seriously, this isn't a chat thread.

^this.

I've only been AQ'd, like 8 times in the 3 and a half years I've been here, I think.

This. Self-promos just to say you've been AQ'd literally scream "HEY, LOOK AT ME! I'M DESPERATE FOR ATTENTION AND THINK I'M THE SHIT!".

12 times in just under three years, across two accounts and excluding set-ups and things posted here that people say they would've put in.

I was under the impression that this thread was to quoting awesome (liberal definition of the word) sayings on NS. Not about how many times you've been quoted or not. Did I imagine the purpose of the thread or what?

That's not surprising, seeing as I've never even seen you in General.

Exactly. I have never expected to be quoted here on the posts that do get quoted here. When I actually try, I fail.

Not that I'm exactly 'liked' here. I'm pretty much the polar opposite of most people in NSG.

I personally have no real qualm if people want to jerk their ego off by seeing how much they've been quoted. It's better than going off on a Hippo hate-fest or the other stuff that pops up in this thread.

But I'd rather the mods don't make a stop here, so we should probably knock it off regardless.

The Grand Empire of Ralkovia

I've decided to do a bit of transforming for my nation. I'm going to be gentle now. Get rid of my regular military entirely.

I'm moving Ralkovia from Absolute Monarchy with Theocratic tendencies to full blown Absolute Theocratic Monarchy with the Emperor moving to full blown G-d.

All War will now be a labor of love. We want to bring nothing but joy to the World. Everlasting Love of G-d to you. Even if we have to force it down your throats with Rabbi blessed bombs.

I shall unload millions of my Rabbinical Fanatic Pilgrims onto your shores to convince you through the argument of the bullet.

All the while our government may or may not be led by a corporation of secular foreign businessmen.

Like my professor in Foreign Policy said: "Foreign Relations are like relationships"

Relationships are complicated.

But here, let me put it in relationship style <puts glasses on>:

Basically let's say Shirley (US) is pissed at her best friend Sarah (Syria) for using stink bombs against her own family, when Shirley adviced Sarah that was such a stupid idea. Then Katerina (Russia) and Ming (China) are actually backing up Sarah because in their opinion she is completely cool and they pretty much want Shirley to fuck off.

Shirley refuses to accept this and goes and tries to convince her family she is right in doing it and have their backup in case she does need it. They don't really trust her because she has done prior fuck ups which have drained them emotionally as well as economically, and they see that her mishaps have also done damage to other people they didn't intend to piss off, so really and truly her family thinks is mixed: some want to still back her up while some just want to leave everything alone and fuck Sarah, why? Because she is acting like a complete bitch and somehow they feel Shirley is better than that.

I guess that's as best as I can put it in a layman sense.

When those "stinkbombs" are actually releasing carbon monoxide which kills Sarah's little sister and Shirley is the only police officer in town, Shirley intervening to prevent Sarah, who we now know is fucking insane and enjoys carbon monoxiding people, from carbon monoxiding more people looks a little bit better than it does in your rather loaded analogy.
