Here's a bit of Nathi's wisdom:

Dread Lady Nathicana wrote:Perhaps there would be less 'vitriol' if the goram media would stop telling us a) it exists and b) keep shoving reasons at us to feel thusly, rather than just reporting the fething news. I swear, it really is getting to be more true than it ought to be, that the true three branches of government over here are the banks, Hollywood, and the media. Its clear our politicians certainly aren't doing their jobs. Looming shutdown yet again, anyone? But I digress.

I feel horrible for these people. To have something like this happen in one of their holy places, let alone at all, must come with a lot of additional feelings of betrayal, abandonment, etc. One's faith is tested enough with the loss of a loved one, without the additional tragedy of a freak accident adding to the 'why' of it all. It's not the faithful I have problems with in any case. It's the extremists who are torturing, killing, and starving their own people along with others. They are the ones I reserve my 'vitriol' for. The ones who proudly state they would kill me and mine simply for our beliefs. Not people who simply believe differently than I do. Not people just trying to live like everyone else is.

May those affected by it be able to find peace when they can, and come to terms with their loss. Nature can be a right bitch. And when you combine it with our own creations, it seems to bring out the worst in it.

It might be nice if we didn't automatically lump folks in to preconceived boxes in our posts, all the same. I have to admit, I find it mildly offensive to be expected to blindly hate just because bad things have happened, or someone has told me I ought to. Just as a suggestion, there.

Tmurtarakhan provides an excellent summary of last night's GOP debate.

Tmutarakhan wrote:Senator Chia Head proposes that if we legalize marijuana in Syria, ISIS will chill out, man. Governor Krispy Kreme objects that marijuana is a gateway to the munchies, and whoa does he know what that can lead to. Shrub the Third bogarts the joint, and promises to make us feel as safe as we felt the day the Twin Towers collapsed. Mr. Rump admits he skips all the classes about foreign countries, but promises to pull an all-nighter Jan. 19 to cram for the final. Senator Sippy Cup reminds us that we are still supposed to be worried about Cuba, although even he doesn't remember why.

Snotty Walker says we wouldn't need a minimum wage if we just improved education by firing all the teachers. Ms. Firemeanie agrees that firing people is the only way to create jobs. Mr. Rump showed massive restraint by not shouting "You're fired!" Dr. Carcrash proposes replacing all our taxes with Biblical offerings, like two pigeons for every sin and a yearling goat for each male child. Governor Huckaduck says this would be fine as long as we make sure that rich people don't pay anything. Mr. Rump on the other hand says he'll pay any taxes you like, all his money was stolen from other people anyway, shrug.
